Cards 2 to 10 are valued according to their number. All face cards (Jack, Queen and King) as well as Tens have the value of ten. Aces can have the value of 1 or 10. The suit of cards doesn’t matter in Blackjack. The value of the ace seems to confuse some players under the "heat of the action". Player chooses the value for Aces himself. If you value an Ace as 11 and your hand total goes over 21 then you can value it as 1.
